Where to begin?
Hi!
This is Lyn Hayes, wife to Nightflyer's mandolin player Rick Hayes. Generally one of the band members write a band's blog, but we thought we would give it a slightly different perspective -- a bird's eye view so to speak. (Get it? Bird -- Nightflyer. OK, might as well admit it now. My humor is a bit goofy and my style of writing is rather stream-of-consciousness. See if you can keep up.) I plan on keeping you informed about what the guys are up to, give a few behind-the-scenes stories and will certainly have the guys do guest blog entries too (gracious of me, isn't it?). First time I've ever tried anything like this, so wish me luck! Right now is a very exciting time for the band. All of the guys have been playing in various bands (and a few different formats too) for many years, but I think they all agree that they have never been happier then they are now. A true "band of brothers" that compliment each other well and have a great time doing it. They all seem to be rowing the boat in the same direction, and that can often be difficult when five musicians' egos are all stuffed in the same room. But they do it, and they do it well. The most exciting current news is that they have just joined up with Jason R. Grubb Artists Management. Jason is going to be their new booking agent! I, for one, am REALLY excited about this, because I was just getting started trying to book the guys and I know I can't do them justice. Jason seems like a great guy, that is booking more for the love of it than anything else. My kind of guy! Let's face it, in music you have to love what you're doing first and foremost. OK, I think I've rattled on enough for my first foray into blogdom. Please feel free to make comments or suggestions (know that I do get to check them first though! )Thanks so much for visiting our site. I hope you come back often. Please visit us on facebook as well and LIKE the page while you are there! Take care, Lyn |
